Temperature Thresholds
Degree-days are usually calculated as the area under the curve above a certain lower temperature threshold. Typical values for insects are between 40 and 55 degrees F, and for plants and fungi are between 32 and 44 F. Upper thresholds are not always used in degree-day calculations, but if used, these could vary typically between 80 and 100 F for insects. If you have pre-selected a model, these thresholds are automatically taken from our database and do not need to be entered.
